The position of Cash Services Specialist II requires the timely and accurate handling of exception-based payments, Lockbox rejects, payment reversals and research with appropriate corrective actions delivered.
Functions performed require root-cause analysis with remediation execution.
*Responsibilities:*
* Ensure all Cash Service functions are performed in compliance with company, investor and/or regulatory guidelines.
* Provide workflow assistance to Specialist I and management, as applicable.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of funds received for loan servicing, including but not limited to, mortgagor payments, suspense, liquidations, and bankruptcy foreclosure and loss mitigation funds.
* Perform MSP IDisburse check processing functions.
* Ensure the timely reconciliation of batch balancing and payment clearing reconciliation items.
* Assist with drafting Cash Service’s procedures.
* Execute the handling of Task Tracking and complaint research requests.
* Perform scanning functions for deposit and scanning of checks and documents to remote team members.
* Assist with intra department quality control verification on specific Cash Services functions.
* Research and resolve payment posting discrepancies timely and accurately.
* Perform application reversals, as applicable.
* Monitor system edit reports.
* Partner with internal and external business partners as applicable to perform Cash Services functions.
* Execute on other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years related cash management payment posting experience in mortgage banking related field, preferred.
* Previous MSP/ICE system experience, preferred
* Strong verbal and written communications skills
* Possess strong analytical skills required to research and resolve payment processing discrepancies.
* Ability to apply common sense reasoning skills to problem solving and cash balancing.
* Proficient skills utilizing MS Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.
)
* Solid organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow.
* Possess strong teamwork skills.
* Effectively interact with various departments, management, and vendor liaisons.
* Strong mathematical and reasoning skills are required
