As the Manager, Internal Audit, you will combine technical auditing skills and current technologies with a collaborative approach to participate in the development and execution of the annual audit plan while providing oversight and coaching to Internal Auditors.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Audit and Advisory Engagements (e.
g.
, Internal Audit engagements, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance, Risk Assessments, etc.
) for internal stakeholders including key activities such as i) the design and development of risk assessments, ii) annual audit plans, iii) audit programs, iv) working papers, v) internal audit reports, and vi) other deliverables based on the specific engagement requirements
Identify areas of operational, financial, and technology risk and help the respective business functions mitigate those risks while working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Assist the Chief Audit Executive or their designee in developing the annual audit plan and schedule of audit assignments
Develop and execute a comprehensive audit program specified engagements or projects
Supervise the audit process to ensure that objectives are understood and met, key risks and controls are identified, testing is complete and documented in accordance with departmental standards and that resulting reports are accurate, clear and concise
Partner with the business to assess risks of new technologies, including robotics process automation, data analytics, and other new technologies
Identify and clearly communicate performance improvement opportunities and leading practices to personnel and senior management and work with partners to assist in practice management including resource allocation, career development of staff, and other administration decisions
Develops insightful operational observations that clearly add value either directly to the Company or through the business unit.
Doing so requires ascertaining and furthering strategic or other objectives of the Company and/or the business units under review
Liaison with the business providing thought leadership and guidance to support their fiduciary, regulatory, and compliance obligations
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent related work or military experience
5 years of experience in public accounting or industry, preferably for a Fortune 500 company
Fundamental knowledge of SOX, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and GAAP
Fundamental knowledge of IIA standards, Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) framework, audit risk assessment practices and fraud detection techniques
Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
It’d be great if you also have:
CPA, CIA or CISA certifications
Experience performing under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment; experience quickly learning and achieving proficiency in new software applications
Advanced knowledge of SEC rules and regulations, fraud detection techniques, and industry or XPO Logistics specific business
Knowledge of IT security, infrastructure, and operating system platforms
Knowledge of GRC tools
