*Duties and Responsibilities:*
· Research and gather required documents to set up required tax accounts in new states where companies operate.
· Research payroll tax payments and data discrepancies with federal, state, and local agencies, and work with tax agencies as well as internal staff for resolution.
· Work with HRIS to ensure that the company follows federal, state, and local legal requirements, establishing state tax, unemployment tax and local city/territory accounts, as necessary.
Responsible for monitoring, auditing, and completing tax filings, as necessary.
· Oversight of Year End W2 and Annual Reporting requirements including processing corrections and employee questions.
· Quarterly tax filings and payment review to ensure compliance.
· Review of 401k deferrals and payments in compliance.
· Review of all payroll-related deductions and payments in compliance.
· Audit and remit unclaimed funds.
· Manager all GL mapping, corrections, and reconciliations for all Balance Sheets and Income Statement accounts.
Implement preventative/ supportive measures as needed.
· Prepare and post payroll and payroll related journal entries in accordance with financial statement timelines
· Liaison with Accounting teams (GL and Cash Management).
· Support Accounting and Benefits for annual and ad hoc audits.
· Support period end reconciliations of payroll accruals and cash accounts in accordance with financial statement timelines.
*Knowledge and Skill Requirements:*
· Minimum four (4) years’ experience in multi-state, large volume payroll accounting, account reconciliations, tax preparation and compliance.
· Experience with HRIS/ HCM systems
· Background in Payroll and/ or Accounting
· FCP or CPP Certification highly preferred
· Extensive knowledge of federal & state laws related to payroll and tax compliance
· Coaching, organization, and customer service skills.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
