” Model #665 Gas Pump
We are offering for sale a Wayne Co.
- Model #665, ten-gallon gas pump.
This Wayne gas pump was built in 1928 in Ft.
Wayne, Indiana.
The pump, motor and guts are intact.
The pump is presented in a “Gulf” theme.
The pump shows nicely with an earlier restoration.
Probably in the seventies.
The orange, blue, and white paint show appropriate age.
The original brass ID tag reads, “Wayne Co.
Model #665Cut, Serial #40293, 10 Gallon Capacity”.
The tag measures 4 ½” x 4”.
The Wayne #665 gas pump is 116” tall & the base is 24” wide.
The ten-gallon, plexiglass cylinder is 12” by 24 ½”.
There are 1” red vinyl letters denoting the gallons (numbering 1-10) on the outside of the cylinder.
The red letters are easily removable.
There are no splits or cracks in the cylinder.
The “Gulf” globe is 13 ½”.
The lenses are glass, and the globe frame is plastic.
The steel rods are original.
There is a ten-foot black hose with a “Buckeye” brass and aluminum handle.
The gas pump globe and cylinder are illuminated using a 40-watt LED light bulb.
There are two 12” round “Gulf” decals on the Wayne pump.
There are also two “Contains Lead” signs.
One is metal and the other is vinyl.
Per the posted pictures, the skins are attached with exterior mounted hardware.
This is a distinguishing characteristic of the Wayne #665 and the Wayne #615.
