antique WOODEN PULL TOY HORSE circa 1900 German 20" Tall & Long - EXCEPTIONAL This beautiful antique WOODEN HORSE belonged to my mother and has resided in our smoke free home for approx.
60 years.
He is wooden and is attached to a wooden base which has wooden wheels He is attached to the base with three original screws under three of his hoofs.
The forth screw to attach the fourth hoof is missing but it is not necessary to hold him securely on the wooden base.
The horse if very sturdy, he is not rickety with three screws holding him to the base.
I believe that his horse hair covering and leather saddle and bridle were relatively new when my mother purchased him about 60 years ago.
The horse was already considered an antique when purchased by my mother.
There are no markings confirming the country of origin, but he was always referred to as a German horse.
This beautiful horse was paired with two wooden German Schoenhut dolls (circa 1911) that stood on either side of him for the past 60 years.
The eyes appear to be made of metal.
They are not glass.

Please note that on very close inspection I noted that there is small chip in the back of his left front hoof which can only be seen if the horse is removed from the platform.
One of the wooden wheels has a partial surface crack which does not run the length or width of the wheel.
The wheels work perfectly and the horse is nicely secured on the platform.
