*Position Summary: *The Microbiologist is responsible for performing microbiological / chemical and physical tests required for quality control of processes and products.

· Analyze components and physical properties of materials.
· Compile and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
· Confer with scientists or engineers to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
· Adjust formulas and processes based on test results.
· Test and analyze sample products.
· Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests.
· Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules.
· Recommend measures to improve testing procedures and use of equipment.
· Analyze and resolve work problems.
· Maintain documentation records.
*Education/Experience:* · Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and at least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Language Ability:* Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents.
Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
*Mathematical Ability:* Apply advanced concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
Apply operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, test reliability/validity, variance analysis, correlation technique, sampling theory and factor analysis.
*Reasoning Ability:* Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
*Computer Skills:* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and email; Inventory software; Development software; Design software; Database software, and Contact Management systems.
