Support Center - Irving
The Sr.
Developer will be responsible for design and development.
Must be able to work independently to function as a liaison between the business community and the technical community in support of development of code for the application.
Responsibilities include translating business requirements into specific system requirements and providing technical knowledge, leadership and support.
Also support the Business team in getting day-to-day users issues resolved on timely manner.
Major Activities Development: Independently partners with the business to assess and understand business requests.
Expected development activities include working from an approved product backlog to convert new feature & enhancement requests to compatible code.
Duties include, but are not limited to, coding, applying proper programming standards, documenting major changes from core functionality, etc.
Assists business with gathering, clarifying, translating and defining business requirements into specific system requirements.
Investigates options to meet requirements.
Gains understanding of the systems utilizing, conducts research and fact finding to solve business problems and meet the business needs.
Participates in architectural reviews.
Documents and recommends functional solutions where applicable.
Documents and recommends business process changes where applicable.
Creates conceptual and functional designs for solutions.
Prepares and delivers functional designs to the project development teams.
Participates in design review sessions.
Work from an approved product backlog to convert new features and enhancement request to the Framing application compatible code.
Apply proper programming standards, documenting major changes from the core functionality etc.
Support : Assist with change management activities to deliver business solutions.
Expected support activities include ensuring the proper maintenance & stability of all applications in scope.
Duties include, but are not limited to, ongoing ticket review, communicating status of resolution, impact analysis, end-to-end ticket resolution, etc.
Provides functional support for the business during implementation and post-implementation phases of a project.
Assists in the project close and transition of the project to the support team.
Provides “level 3” support for applications in his/her area of responsibility.
Planning: Works with the business to assess and understand business requests.
Assists business owners in identifying, clarifying, and documenting the objectives and benefits of any project or enhancement request.
Partners with business owners to determine ROI on project/enhancement requests.
Analyzes, translates, and documents business/user requirements.
Prepares and delivers user requirements for project development teams.
Analyzes current business processes and provides suggestions for improvements of system efficiencies.
Analyze existing Michaels sourcing solutions and identify opportunities to leverage partner capabilities.
Ability to lead the analysis and implementation of Product Life Cycle Management capabilities.
Expected platform governance activities include ensuring safe-use of application resources.
Duties include but are not limited to, reviewing/mitigating/resolving of error logs & performance issues, etc.
Testing & User Acceptance: Assists in the preparation of testing strategies, test plans and test cases.
Leads user acceptance phase of projects.
Compiles testing results.
Compiles and tracks issues.
Communicates defects discovered in UAT.
Provides general support for the business during user acceptance testing.
General Responsibilities: Maintains effective communication with management and project teams.
Liaison between the architecture and the project development teams.
Adheres to department SDLC process and project framework.
Supports and adheres to defined architectural standards.
Duties include but are not limited to, preparing for passage of quarterly PCI audits, managing audit trail of all production changes, ensuring ITPO adherence, ensuring the latest SDLC best-practices are adhered to, etc.
Expected standards & compliance activities include ensuring the well-regulated use of customer-facing & internal system-facing applications.
Other duties as assigned Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or Finance Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills Varies based on area functional area supporting Minimum Type of experience the job requires 5#43; years progressive work experience, within a retail environment 5#43; years of technology experience, including troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of complex IT solutions 3#43; years of project management experience Other Good understanding of the Retail domain and in store applications Experience in gathering requirements Experienced in documenting business, process and data flows Understanding of systems development life cycle including issue, risk and scope management Understanding of test strategies, test plans and test execution Proficiency developing automated unit tests Complete understanding of the full product development life cycle (design, development and testing) #LI- LS1 Applicants in the U.
