POSITION SUMMARY: The Solution Delivery Merchandising and Inventory Developer is responsible for designing, coding, testing and implementing solutions on time and within budget.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Strategy & Planning Collaborate with analysts and IT teams to develop solutions that meet the requirements given by the business.
Grow knowledge of best practices and market trends.
Participate in creating design and development standards for the team.
System Implementation Translate solution designs into working code with minimal oversight from team members.
Design, develop and test complex application software and modify and maintain existing applications based on standards and procedures Design or modify sophisticated application software programs such as third-party application packages, custom developed applications and graphical user interfaces Analyze business application requirements and develop specifications for database construction, data modeling, and normalization.
Review system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested programs or program changes are possible within the existing system.
Evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
Evaluate interrelationships between programs such as whether a change in one part of a program will cause an unwanted result in another part.
Develop and document test cases, test data requirements and expected results.
Perform unit and integration testing.
Migrate complex, high-risk solutions into the production environment Operational Management Participate in the review and resolution of development issues.
Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct identified performance issues.
Assist in training and the support of end-users on developed applications.
Maintain and document interface systems and resolve database performance problems as required.
Develop appropriate program and systems documentation according to established IT standards.
Provide reports on project development status to management on a regular and timely basis.
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data integrity.
Enforce policies, procedures, and standards.
Nightly on call support rotation is required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education Required: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Technical Certifications a plus.
Years of Job-Related Experience Required: 5+ years IT related experience.
Technical/Other Skills Required: General knowledge of development practices.
General knowledge of data structures, data management practices, system interaction patterns and interfaces.
Technical troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving skills.
Enterprise Retail Merchandise and Inventory software experience.
Ex.
Oracle Retail PL/SQL Oracle Database Additional skills preferred Oracle RMS, RPM, Allocations; Oracle RPAS – MFP Oracle Forms development experience ProC XML Linus Unix scripting Personal Attributes Listening, verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences.
