Main Responsibilities: Work with developers to understand existing build systems and maintain and optimize the build systems.
Work with software release group to understand the needs of software packaging.
Produce documentation as to how the build system works for users and maintainers.
Take ownership of all build systems, making updates as necessary based on requests from development and process teams.
Train junior developers about embedded build systems.
Reverse engineer RTOS build systems to understand how to incorporate the needed build steps in the build system when adding support for a new RTOS.
Ability to scale build systems to work over a wide range of Operating Systems and configuration types to support more than 200 build variants.
Required Skills: 6 years of experience as a software developer.
2 years of experience doing embedded software.
Experience using the SCons software construction tool.
Proficient with advanced usages of Python Understanding of C and C language tools (compilers, linkers, make systems) Ability to work under a Windows development environment.
Experience with cross compilation environments.
How to use command line Git.
Nice to Have Skills: Experience with ARINC 653 build systems.
Experience with RTOSs such as Deos, Integrity, LynxOS, PikeOs, QNX, VxWorks.
Familiarity with GNU C compiler tools and GNU Bintools command line options.
Experience using make, JSON, YAML, TFTP, FTP, SSH, SCP, Telnet, RS-232.
Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence and Sharepoint.
