THE OPPORTUNITY: We are looking for a candidate who has high energy and is results-oriented with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
As a member of the Tier 2 Application support organization the support role will primarily provide Point of Sale (POS) support.
This will involve support for store systems and various technical components around the POS and other internal applications.
For example, rewards program interface, transactional logging, pricing, product, pin pads and other functionality.
This position will sometimes work independently and as part of a team to answer calls, quickly address issues, escalate as necessary and overall troubleshooting via phone, onsite or remote access.
This is an onsite role based out of our Fort Worth TX office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support to our current POS environment; Handle tickets and work with store team members to resolve their issues quickly; Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability of POS; While the role will be key to supporting POS, it will also include troubleshooting some store applications such as our rewards program for customers; monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning and other duties that may be defined Create interfaces for current and new systems utilizing PowerShell and SQL, including FTP, data handling between Yesway’s and third party for new and existing systems; Provide Level-2 and advanced tier 2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues; Having independent judgment, creative thinking, and analytical problem solving skills to discover ways to solve business problems and improve business processes including SQL; Work with TLOG or general log data and be comfortable with the manipulation of that data; Provide on-call support as needed and handle escalations from Tier I service desk; and Will need to understand general configuration changes and be comfortable making changes.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or MIS or 10 years of experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in large organizations in a support role; must have been part of a tier 2 support organization and comfortable working between tier 1 and tier 3; Requires 5 years-experience with SQL, POS and .
NET; Experience in C-Stores or retail is required; fuel pump understanding is ideal; Hands-on experience as a technical support / application engineer; comfortable with writing scripts to push into production or out to stores and POS systems; Previous role as a tier II tech or applications support with understanding of ERP and how information flows and be capable of troubleshooting various failure points along the way; Must be able to solve complex and cross-functional problems; Ability to work independently with limited supervision; Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed; Must be familiar with a ticketing system such as Remedy or Service now Must have previous POS experience.
Strong analytical, technical, verbal and written communication skills; Experience writing technical documents, software design documentation, and maintenance; Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools; A proven understanding of database and analysis tools such as SQL and Excel, including demonstrated analytical skills to solve business issues; and Demonstrable project management skills.
