This position is for a Systems Engineer entry level role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization.
As a Systems Engineer you will:
Design and build an E2E simulation platform that validates performance, stability, and functional testing.
Work with cross functional teams to build and support a virtualized automated testing environment.
Provide support for Systems Integration teams.
Work in a cloud native environment.
Communicate clear requirements to vendors and program updates to leadership.
You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid full time position, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
This hybrid role will be based out of Westlake, TX.

What we’re looking for.

You’ll need to have:
Currently enrolled at University of Texas at Dallas and attending the Verizon hosted event on 2/23.
Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.
Coursework or demonstrated experience in Python, Java and C++.
Coursework or experience in Cloud Computing (ex: Cloud Native, Virtualization).
Authorization to work in the U.
S.
without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Willingness to travel and work in Westlake, TX.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Ability to work with/in scripting to automate monitoring of network performance.
Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) environment.
Knowledge or Coursework dealing with 5G Networks
Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or similar).
Ability to work multiple team members and vendors in a clear and concise manner.
Self motivation and ability to adapt to program changes.
