Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing – Retention is responsible for creating and driving strategic plans and executing system-wide marketing efforts designed to drive long-term client and member retention.
The role requires big-picture brand/channel-marketing thinking as well as sharp analytical thinking to drive decision making and optimization of marketing activities.
The Director of Marketing - Retention will report to the SVP of Marketing, joining and collaborating with a small but passionate team with a drive for results.
This candidate spearheads all marketing retention efforts for the brand and will also work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure flawless execution of the Boardroom marketing vision internally and externally.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and manage annual plans for all marketing retention efforts contributing overall marketing annual calendar and strategic initiatives
Own responsibility for critical business KPIs: client repeat-rate and member retention, among others as determined
Collaborate with Marketing Director – Acquisition for national planning efforts, promotional windows, and other brand initiatives with a retention mindset
Responsible for Boardroom’s CRM function including all facets of campaigns, always-on-automations, and data integrations and implementation
Plan, manage and execute email & SMS campaigns, carefully monitoring performance
Maintain active, regular reporting on campaign performance, tracking KPIs and making optimization recommendations
Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
Partner with Finance to ensure financial viability of test proposals and make projections
Manage partner relationships and/or internal headcount and partner with SVP of Marketing to build a growing marketing team
Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
7-10 years marketing experience in multi-unit retail or service industry experience with a retention background
A desire to try new things and an eagerness to learn
Highly motivated, responsible, and accountable with strong initiative, project management skills, and outstanding business logic
Strong background in 1:1 customer marketing, with robust experience in personalization, customization, and segmentation best practices
CRM strategy and management experience required, Hubspot preferred
Experience building and executing promotional campaigns and delivering results
Excellent deck-writing/storytelling skills for business cases and project briefs
Proactive, intuitive, results-driven, and hands-on with the ability to recognize, strategize, and creatively solve problems
Proven ability to mentor and coach junior team members
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
